Nasi Tiwul

NASI TIWUL BU GANDOS - Menikmati Nasi Singkong dan Sayur Ikan Hiu

Ingin bernostalgia dengan menyantap tiwul? Pacitan lah salah satu tempat yang tepat. Jangan harap Anda bisa menemukan tiwul di kota-kota besar. Makanan pengganti nasi ini dulu menjadi makanan pokok sebagian masyarakat Indonesia, namun kini gaungnya semakin berkurang seiring dengan perkembangan jaman.
Salah satu tempat untuk mendapatkan tiwul di Pacitan adalah Restoran Sari Laut Bu Gandos. Terletak di Jalan Solo - Pacitan km 5, restoran ini menawarkan menu nasi putih, nasi tiwul dan masakan sea food sederhana yang lezat dengan harga murah. Yang menjadi primadona adalah perpaduan nasi tiwul dengan sayur kalakan ikan hiu. Tunggu dulu, ikan hiu? Terus terang kami sempat agak ragu untuk mencoba, namun kapan lagi ada kesempatan merasakan sensasi perpaduan tiwul dengan daging ikan hiu?
Tiwul yang berwarna kecoklatan terasa pera (tidak lembek), agak kenyal dan sedikit manis. Awalnya singkong dikupas, dicuci, dan dikeringkan hingga menjadi gaplek. Tepung gaplek kemudian diperciki sedikit air hingga berbentuk butiran-butiran kecil, kemudian dikukus. Voila, jadilah nasi tiwul yang memiliki rasa dan tekstur khas. Meski rendah kandungan proteinnya, namun singkong memiliki kandungan glukosa dan kaya akan kalori dan hidrat arang sehingga menjadi salah satu makanan sumber tenaga.
Di restoran Bu Gandos, tiwul disajikan bersama dengan sayur kalakan ikan hiu. Potongan ikan dimasak dalam kuah santan yang pedas, mirip dengan mangut. Siraman kuahnya membuat tekstur tiwul yang pera menjadi lebih mudah ditelan. Jangan khawatir, Anda tidak sedang berpartisipasi dalam pemusnahan hiu. Ikan yang dimasak bukanlah hiu yang sebenarnya melainkan memiliki bentuk mirip ikan hiu. Bila suka, Anda juga bisa menambahkan sambal terong atau lalapan lengkap dengan sambal mentahnya. Tersedia juga berbagai jenis ikan goreng sebagai lauk. Hmmmm, rasanya benar-benar mantap! Anda bisa menikmatinya sambil lesehan dengan pemandangan yang menghadap langsung ke arah Pantai Teleng Ria yang indah.
