Candi Cetho

CANDI CETHO - Mencari Kebeningan Hati di Ketinggian 1400 m

Dalam bahasa Jawa, cetho berarti jelas atau jernih. Berada pada ketinggian 1400 meter di lereng Gunung Lawu, Candi Cetho hanya bisa dicapai melalui jalan aspal sempit, menanjak curam dan berkelok-kelok. Rasa was-was dan takut akan terbayar lunas begitu sampai di kompleks candi. Sejuknya udara pegunungan dan indahnya pemandangan alam akan menjadi teman setia menjelajahi Candi Cetho.
Gapura yang berdiri menjulang dengan anggun di bawah langit akan langsung membawa ingatan kita pada gapura-gapura di Pulau Dewata, Bali. Dua buah patung penjaga yang berbentuk mirip dengan patung pra sejarah berdiri membisu di bawahnya. Kawasan candi ini membentang pada sebuah lahan berundak dan dibangun pada akhir kekuasaan Kerajaan Majapahit di bawah pemerintahan Raja Brawijaya V. Di salah satu terasnya terdapat susunan batu dengan pahatan berbentuk matahari yang menggambarkan Surya Majapahit, lambang Kerajaan Majapahit. Candi ini pertama kali ditemukan sebagai reruntuhan batu dengan 14 teras berundak. Namun sekarang hanya tertinggal 13 teras, 9 diantaranya telah dipugar.
Sebagai tempat pemujaan Dewa Siwa, candi ini dihiasi dengan arca phallusyang menjadi symbol Siwa. Terdapat juga patung Brawijaya V serta penasehatnya dan susunan batu berbentuk lingga dan yoni berukuran dua meter. Bangunan utama berbentuk trapesium berada di teras paling atas. Sampai saat ini Candi Cetho masih dipergunakan oleh penduduk sekitar sebagai tempat beribadah. Mereka meletakkan sesajen di arca-arca kemudian naik ke teras tertinggi untuk ritual keagamaan. Harum bunga sesaji dan dupa ditambah dengan kabut yang sering turun menyelimuti area candi memberi kesan mistis.

Dewi Saraswati dari Bali

Kabut yang mulai menyelimuti dan awan tebal yang mulai berarak datang tidak menyurutkan niat YogYES untuk menyambangi Puri Dewi Saraswati di kompleks ini. Keluar dari pintu samping, YogYES naik lebih tinggi lagi ke atas bukit. Nafas terasa nyaris putus akibat mendaki bukit dengan setengah berlari. Sekitar 300 meter kemudian sampailah di puri yang lebih mirip seperti sebuah taman ini. Bangunan utamanya adalah lapangan terbuka berlantai batu. Sebuah kolam dengan patung Dewi Saraswati berdiri anggun di atasnya. Dengan latar belakang pohon-pohon pinus, patung Dewi Ilmu Pengetahuan sumbangan dari Propinsi Bali ini nampak memancarkan aura magis tersendiri. Di sebelah kanannya terdapat sebuah jalan kecil menuju ke Sendang Pundi Sari yang dulunya berfungsi sebagai tempat penyucian diri sebelum sembahyang di candi. Entah hawa apa yang membuat kami merasa betah berlama-lama berada di puri ini. Namun gerimis mulai turun, dan tidak terbayangkan perjalanan turun dalam guyuran air hujan. Kembali dengan setengah berlari kami menuruni bukit. Anehnya, setelah beberapa ratus meter turun, kabut lenyap dan matahari kembali bersinar.
Candi Cetho menjadi tempat yang sempurna bagi para traveler yang mencari kebeningan hati. Menyaksikan penduduk setempat melaksanakan ritual keagamaan di candi ini akan menjadi pengalaman tersendiri.
