Eksotisme Grand Canyon di daerah utara Arizona, Amerika Serikat tentunya tak bisa disangkal lagi. Grand Canyon merupakan bentukan alam berupa jurang dan tebing terjal yang dihiasi oleh aliran Sungai Colorado. Nama Grand Canyon kemudian diplesetkan menjadi Green Canyon untuk menyebut obyek wisata di Jawa Barat yang hampir serupa, yakni aliran sungai yang membelah tebing-tebing tinggi. Gunungkidul sebagai daerah yang sering diasumsikan sebagai wilayah kering dan tandus ternyata juga menyimpan keindahan serupa, yakni hijaunya aliran sungai yang membelah ngarai dengan air terjun indah yang tak pernah berhenti mengalir di setiap musim. Air terjun tersebut dikenal dengan nama Air Terjun Sri Gethuk.
Terletak di Desa Wisata Bleberan, Air Terjun Sri Gethuk menjadi salah satu spot wisata yang sayang untuk dilewatkan. Untuk mencapai tempat ini Anda harus naik kendaraan melewati areal hutan kayu putih milik PERHUTANI dengan kondisi jalan yang bervariasi mulai dari aspal bagus hingga jalan makadam. Memasuki Dusun Menggoran, tanaman kayu putih berganti dengan ladang jati yang rapat. Sesampainya di areal pemancingan yang juga berfungsi sebagai tempat parkir, terdapat dua pilihan jalan untuk mencapai air terjun. Pilihan pertama yakni menyusuri jalan setapak dengan pemandangan sawah nan hijau berhiaskan nyiur kelapa, sedangkan pilihan kedua adalah naik melawan arus Sungai Oya. Tentu saja YogYES memilih untuk naik rakit sederhana yang terbuat dari drum bekas dan papan.
Perjalanan menuju Air Terjun Sri Gethuk pun dimulai saat mentari belum naik tinggi. Pagi itu Sungai Oya terlihat begitu hijau dan tenang, menyatu dengan keheningan tebing-tebing karst yang berdiri dengan gagah di kanan kiri sungai. Suara rakit yang melaju melawan arus sungai menyibak keheningan pagi. Sembari mengatur laju rakit, seorang pemandu menceritakan asal muasal nama Air Terjun Sri Gethuk. Berdasarkan cerita yang dipercayai masyarakat, air terjun tersebut merupakan tempat penyimpanan kethuk yang merupakan salah satu instrumen gamelan milik Jin Anggo Meduro. Oleh karena itu disebut dengan nama Air Terjun Sri Gethuk. Konon, pada saat-saat tertentu masyarakat Dukuh Menggoran masih sering mendengar suara gamelan mengalun dari arah air terjun.
Tak berapa lama menaiki rakit, suara gemuruh mulai terdengar. Sri Gethuk menanti di depan mata. Bebatuan yang indah di bawah air terjun membentuk undak-undakan laksana tepian kolam renang mewah, memanggil siapa saja untuk bermain di dalam air. YogYES pun turun dari rakit dan melompati bebatuan untuk sampai di bawah air terjun dan mandi di bawahnya. Kali ini rasanya seperti berada di negeri antah berantah di mana air mengalir begitu melimpah. Air mengalir di sela-sela jemari kaki, air memercik ke seluruh tubuh, air mengalir di mana-mana. Seorang kawan tiba-tiba berteriak "Ada pelangi!". Saat menengadah, selengkung bianglala nan mempesona menghiasi air terjun. Sesaat YogYES merasa menjadi bidadari yang berselendangkan pelangi.
